Lakme Fashion Week 2016 : Elektrocouture failed to impress

Sometimes things look good on paper/ electronic media posts / on racks and they build expectations.
There was hype around Elektrocouture and Friends's debut on Lakme Fashion Week summer-resort 2016 as they were bringing "innovation" to indian fashion scenario.
Quoting IBNlive.com :
Based in the heart of Europe's fashion tech hub, Berlin, ElektroCouture is a collaborative house for bespoke technologies along with six international designers like Lina Wassong, Melissa Coleman, Valérie Lamontagne, Igor Knezevic, Kristin Neidlinger and Chritian Bruns from various countries like Britain, Canada and US, who join hands for the first time to present a collective showcase of fashion and technology with 'ElektroCouture and Friends'.
Integrating technologies into design, accessories, couture and also pret fashion, these designers have stepped into the future to find new ways of digitalising environment and human body.
Some of their work comprises inventive battery systems to the latest in light technology, digital knitting and weaving, traditional hand processes to achieve radical shapes to 3D printing, sound reactive LEDs, motion and light sensors and mood technology.
These labels use light technology the way other designers use colour or cut, with the vision of making light wearable, multifunctional and easy to wear while still being revolutionary by way of self-expression and style."

And after all that when the show started few things came to my mind.
Is fashion only about interesting sihouttes? No. But in the show only the silhouttes were visible. I understand the need for low blue light to set the atmosphere but it made it hard for  the viewers to understand the colour, texture of the materials. When you are doing such great work why not show it properly?!!
There were some interesting 3D printing but I really cant call this collection futuristic. Nothing was new to experience. It seemed we have seen it all before. Or may be I had really high expectations.
Sadly Elektrocouture wasn't a remarkable experience for me.
What do You think about the show?

Eastern Fashion Legacy

It was a fashion weekend. Not fashion week because it was on Saturday and Sunday (convenient ).
Ok, so what i have realized after watching the shows is
A. One shouldn't have too many drinks, or it'll be hard to register the later shows.
B. If u don't have a friend or group of friends to chat with in between the shows you may die in boredom.
The theme and purpose (?) of this EFL was to promote and encourage eastern Indian textiles and fashion as well as the fashion of it's neighboring countries, like bhutan, bangladesh etc.
The designers used khadi, ikkat, raw silk etcetra. The focus was on weaving and hand embroidery.
Bibi Russell, Abhishek Dutta, Sharbori Dutta, Agnimitra Paul, Chimmi Choden, Atsu Sekhose were among the Efl designers.

Sharbori Dutta's collection for traditional and modern men.

Atsu's charm worked.

EFL fashion weekend came to an end with Mona Pali's show. Though I didn't understand the significance of the towering hairstyle.

Well, I really enjoyed the weekend. Here's a pic of my #OOTD  .

more about fashion coming soon.
Wear Indian textiles. Explore.

The Liebstar Award

I'm so fond of these blogging awards which are given by fellow bloggers. Still in India blogging is a new thing.  I have lost count of how many people have asked me "what is blogging?". I never get annoyed,  I try to explain them what blogging is. What is blogging? For me blogging means getting a place not only to express but also to share with others. Blogging is sharing. The blogging community of India is growing rapidly and few years later people won't ask us this question anymore. Time will reveal everything.  For now just enjoy life, write, share and find new and interesting bloggers .

No More Dating Pigs : Book Takeaway

"Women who fear being alone are most likely to date wrong people."
                 - Norah Marler

Ok, this is probably going to be hard for me to write about this book. But it's a well thought decision to write about the things I'm taking from this book and to include a little bit of my personal life in this post. Only because I want to share the knowledge I gained from this book to you.
So, guys "No More Dating Pigs" by Norah Marler is a self help book and it gives us the knowledge of wise dating and points out the tendencies to date wrong people and gives solutions to stop that viscous circle of dating "pigs".

I haven't dated in my life.  Yet I was in relationships.  Yes, it probably sounds weird but guys committed even before spending quality time to know eachother well. It's not we didn't know eachother but to be in a "forever" kind of relationship you need to understand eachother and most importantly you need to understand yourself.  In my case none of these happend before.
